Goleslider
In Goleslider—the first full program of original electro-acoustic Yiddish songs—contemporary Yiddish poetry about diaspora and otherness meets electroacoustic music.
Artistic directors Francesca Ter-Berg, a pioneer of combining experimental electroacoustic music with klezmer, and Daniel Kahn, multilingual Yiddish songwriter, explore the concept of goles – a Yiddish word that means both exile and diaspora.
Through songs based on new works by contemporary Yiddish poets, Goleslider raises new perspectives on the idea of exile and homeland, offering the creative power of diaspora as a vocal alternative to rising nationalism.
